Synopsis
On that short period between puberty and adolescence, Ale witnesses, along with her best friend Rubén, an equally brief phenomenon: Velvet´s comet sighting through Mexico City´s impressive buildings. This celestial body´s filming captures a glimpse of the fragility in Ale and Rubén´s friendship, making their encounters increasingly occasional and their reencounters much more stranger, forcing the main character to face her own reality, with or without a screen in between.

Paula Hopf
Paula Hopf was born on September 1st, 1988. She started her studies of General Direction at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in 2010. As part of her career she has directed some fiction short films as Light years, the documentary Lúpulos house and her thesis Velvet.

She has also participated as Director of other advertising projects, TV series and fashion films. In addition, she has also work in the production design of several films. Nowadays, Paula is working in the development of her directorial debut A boy´s tale, a project that is supported by the program of Desarrollo de Línea Argumental from IMCINE for the development of the script and that is in the stage of pre-production supported by the production company Catatonia Cine.
